Abstract
ABSTRACT Organic agriculture is one of the parts of the agricultural sector that has received great attention from people in developed and developing countries in line with changes in people's lifestyles that are more concerned with the quality of health, both human health and environmental health. Many countries in the world have begun to pursue organic farming because of the great potential contained in this organic farming. This study is a hydroponic vegetable farmer in Muko Dayah Village in Pidie Jaya Regency, Bandar Dua District, The population is one farmer who has certain qualities and characteristics that are determined by the researcher to be studied and then the conclusion is drawn, the sampling technique uses the case study method or makes one farmer as the object of research. The hydroponic lettuce cultivation business in Meuko Dayah Village currently has only one business unit managed by Mr. Nasruddin. This hydroponic business has been going on since 2019 or has been operating for 4 years on an area of 144 square meters. This hydroponic lettuce cultivation business has developed quite a bit because initially only a capital of Rp 1,500,000 was paid and now it has reached more than Rp 20,000,000. Mr. Nasruddin as a business owner has hopes to be able to develop this business even better and be able to reach a wider market. Based on the results of the research and discussion, the following conclusions can be drawn: 1. The profit obtained from the hydroponic lettuce cultivation business in Meuko Dayah Village is Rp 4.012,174 per production process. 2. Hydroponic lettuce marketing channels in Meuko Dayah Village, namely producers - culinary traders - consumers. 3. Obstacles in managing hydroponic lettuce cultivation businesses are leaf spot disease attacks and floods. Meanwhile, the obstacle in marketing is product continuity. 4. The strategy for developing the lettuce cultivation business in Meuko Dayah Village is to take advantage of opportunities by using existing strengths.
