Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk melihat perbedaan grit berdasarkan minat pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode kuantitatif dengan analisis komparatif yang bertujuan untuk membandingkan grit berdasarkan minat siswa SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. Data diperoleh berdasarkan kuisioner terhadap variabel grit yang disusun sendiri oleh peneliti dan alat ukur minat Rothwell-Miller Interest Blank. Reliabilitas skala grit dalam penelitian ini memperoleh nilai Cronbrach’ Alpha 0,954 dan koefisien validitas dengan rentang 0,311 hingga 0,689. Responden penelitian ini berjumlah 292 siswa yang diperoleh berdasarkan metode proportionate stratified random sampling sesuai dengan karakteristik dan mewakili populasi di SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa hipotesis nol (H₀) ditolak dan hipotesis alternatif (Ha) diterima, yang artinya terdapat perbedaan grit berdasarkan minat pada siswa SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. Perbedaan ini dipengaruhi oleh karakteristik bidang minat, di mana minat yang menuntut latihan terencana dan berorientasi altruistik cenderung memiliki grit lebih tinggi dibandingkan kelompok minat lainnya. Selain itu, psychological capital, motivasi eksternal, dan lingkungan juga berkontribusi dalam pembentukan grit siswa. Temuan ini menegaskan bahwa karakteristik bidang minat dan lingkungan berperan dalam pembentukan grit siswa. Kata Kunci: Grit, Minat, Siswa ABSTRACT This study aims to see the difference in grit based on interest in SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen students. The research method used is a quantitative method with a comparative analysis that aims to compare grit based on interest in SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen students. The data was obtained based on a questionnaire on grit variables created by the researcher and the Rothwell-Miller Interest Blank interest measurement tool. The reliability of the grit scale in this study obtained a Cronbach's Alpha value of 0.954 and a validity coefficient with a range of 0.311 to 0.689. The respondents of this study amounted to 292 students, who were obtained based on the proportionate stratified random sampling method according to the characteristics and representative population at SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen. The results showed that the null hypothesis (H₀) was rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) was accepted, which means there was a difference in grit based on interest in SMA Negeri 1 Bireuen students. This difference is influenced by the characteristics of the field of interest, where interests that demand planned and altruistic orientation tend to have higher grit than other interest groups. In addition, psychological capital, external motivation, and the environment also contribute to the formation of student grit. These findings confirm that the characteristics of areas of interest and environment play a role in the formation of student grit. Keywords: Grit, Interest, Student
