Abstract

Sedimentation is the process of deposition of material carried by upstream flow due to erosion. Rivers carry sediment in each of their flows. Estuaries are transitional areas between rivers and seas. In general, estuaries are places where river water meets seawater. Most areas of the estuary are dominated by muddy sediments, which are very soft . Determination of sampling points using the purposive sampling method and analysis data will be presented descriptively. The results of the study showed the sedimentation rate value in the Bungkaih Estuary area of North Aceh for 7 days was 3.74-8.20 gr/cm3/day. The highest sedimentation rate was at Station 4 at 8.40 gr/cm3/day and the lowest at Station 2 at 3.74 gr/cm3/day. The type of sediment that dominates at the four locations is very fine sand with a value of 59% at Station 2 and silt with a value of 1% at Station 1. The results of the oceanographic parameter study obtained an average current velocity value ranging from 0.18-0.31 m/s. Stations 3 and 4 have the highest average current value of 0.31 m/s and the lowest value is at stations 1 and 2 at 0.18 m/s. The results of the study showed that the highest tide occurred on the second day at 10.00 WIB with a sea level of 155 cm, while the lowest ebb occurred on the first day at 18.00 WIB with a sea level of 63 cm.
