Abstract

ABSTRACT Ultisol Paya Gaboh is a soil with low productivity, characterized by low organic carbon, total nitrogen, potassium K2O, pH, base saturation, calcium, sodium. Ultisol can be increased in productivity by increasing the availability of nutrients and soil chemical properties, one of which is the addition of ameliorants. This study aims to determine the response of Ultisol Paya Gaboh soil chemical properties due to ameliorant application. This study used a non-factorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) with three replications. The first factor is ameliorant consisting of A0 (control), A1 (10% coffee skin) and A2 (10% coffee skin biochar). Ameliant application has an effect on increasing soil N-total by 0.30 (50%). As for the chemical properties of pH (H2O), C-organic, total K2O, cation exchange capacity, base saturation, Ca-dd, Mg-dd, and Na-dd, there was no statistical increase. However, visually each increased by 6.0 (15.38%), 3.29 (156.25%), 0.28 (21.74%), 35.46 (41.63%), 35.19 (54.83%), 3.62 (55.98%), 6.83 (128.09%), 0.17 (6.25%) compared to the initial soil analysis.
