Abstract

ABSTRACT Rice is a key commodity that plays a vital role in food security in Indonesia. However, rice production in Hinai Subdistrict faces challenges such as fertilizer shortages, inefficient use of pesticides, and suboptimal management of production factors. This study aims to analyze the factors influencing rice farming production in Hinai Subdistrict, Langkat Regency. The research method employs the CobbDouglas production function using the Ordinary Least Square (OLS) method, with classical assumption analysis and multiple linear regression. Based on the analysis and discussion conducted, it is concluded that the R-Square value is 66.7%, indicating that land area, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor can explain 66.7% of rice production, while the remaining 33.3% is explained by variables outside the study. Simultaneously, the variables of land area, seeds, fertilizers, pesticides, and labor significantly influence rice production. Partially, the results show that land area, seeds, fertilizers, and labor significantly influence production, while pesticides do not have a significant impact on rice production in Hinai Subdistrict, Langkat Regency.
