Abstract
Eggplant (Solanum melongena L.) is a vegetable renowned for its health benefits, including lowering cholesterol and possessing anti-cancer properties. This study aims to examine the effects of various doses of NPK fertilizer and guano on the growth and yield of eggplants. The research was conducted at the experimental farm of the Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University, situated at an altitude of 12 meters above sea level, from January to April 2024. This research using factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The NPK fertilizer factor (N) consisted of three levels: (N0) 0 g/plant, (N1) 6.8 g/plant, and (N2) 9.6 g/plant. The guano fertilizer factor (G) consisted three levels: (G0) control, (G1) 50 g/plant, and (G2) 75 g/plant. The results showed that the application of NPK fertilizer has significantly affect to the growth of eggplants, including plant height, leaf count, stem diameter, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant, with the optimal dosage being N2 (9.6 g/plant). The application of guano fertilizer showed significantly affect to stem diameter, number of productive branches, number of fruit per plant, fruit length, fruit diameter, and fruit weight per plant, with the best dosage at G2 (75 g/plant). A significant interaction was observed between the treatments of NPK and guano fertilizers concerning plant height and number of leaf, yielding the most favorable results with the combination of NPK 9.6 g/plant and guano 75 g/plant (N2G2).
