Abstract

Eggplant is a vegetable with high nutritional value, especially rich in vitamin A and phosphorus. Instability in eggplant production is often caused by inappropriate fertilization. To overcome this problem, fertilization can be done. Applying the right combination of organic and inorganic fertilizers can optimally increase the productivity of eggplant plants. This research aims to analyze the effect of applying liquid organic fertilizer (POC) from lamtoro leaves and potassium fertilizer on the growth and production of eggplant plants. This research was carried out in Pulo Rungkom Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency, and was also carried out at the Agroecotechnology Laboratory, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University. This research was conducted for 3 months from December 2023 to March 2024. This research used a Factorial Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The first factor is lamtoro leaf liquid organic fertilizer which consists of 0 ml/l, 75 ml/l, 100 ml, 125 ml/l. The second factor is potassium fertilizer, consists of 0 kg/ha, 556 kg/ha, 833 kg/ha. The results of the research showed that the use of liquid organic fertilizer from lamtoro leaves had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, productive branches, number of fruit per plant, length of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, fruit diameter, root length and production. Providing potassium fertilizer has a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, productive branches, number of fruit per plant, length of fruit per plant, weight of fruit per plant, fruit diameter, root volume, root length and production. There is an interaction between the use of liquid organic fertilizer from lamtoro leaves on the variables of productive branches, number of fruit, weight of fruit per plant and production.
