Abstract

ABSTRACT Red chili is a woody shrub that has spicy fruit which comes from the capsaicin content in red chilies. The aim of the research was to determine the effect of growth and yield of red chili plants on the provision of biourine using mulch. This research used a factorial Randomized Group Design (RAK). Factors providing biourine and factors using mulch. Biourine application factor N0 = 0 ml/L, N1 = 30 ml/L, N2 = 50 ml/L, N3 = 70 ml/L, Mulch use factor (M), M1= without mulch, M2= silver black mulch M3= rice straw mulch. Thus, 12 treatment combinations were obtained. This treatment was carried out 3 times so that there were 36 experimental units. Providing biourine can increase plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll, fruit weight per plant, number of fruit, fruit length and number of productive branches. Providing 70 ml/L of biourine can increase the growth of chili plants by paying attention to plant height, number of leaves, leaf chlorophyll, number of fruit, fruit length and fruit diameter. The use of mulch can increase the growth of red chili plants in the observation parameters of plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll, weight of fruit planted, number of fruit, length of fruit and number of productive branches. The use of rice straw mulch can increase the growth of chili plants by paying attention to plant height, number of leaves, chlorophyll, flowering age, fruit weight, number of fruit, fruit length, fruit diameter and number of productive branches.
