Abstract
Srikaya is a fruit plant that can be propagated generatively (seeds). Srikaya has a problem, namely having a hard and stiff seed coat, so it takes a relatively long time to grow into seedlings and requires a little treatment to accelerate seed germination. Efforts made to overcome this are by breaking dormancy with scarification. In addition to the problem of germination, srikaya seeds planted indoors require sunlight but not directly for growth. Therefore, sunlight can be replaced with lamp light. This research was conducted at the Seed Research Team Mini Laboratory, Kuta Blang Village, Banda Sakti District, Lhokseumawe City. This research used an experimental method with a split plot design (RPT) consisting of 2 factors. The first factor is the Light Color Treatment (W) which consists of 4 levels, namely: white light color, red light color, blue light color and no light. The second factor is the scarification treatment (S) which consists of 3 levels, namely: without scarification, partial scarification and total scarification.Observation variables are maximum growth potential, germination power, vigor index, growth simultaneity, growth speed, plumule length and radicle length. The results showed that there was no interaction between several Qlight color treatments and mechanical scarification on soursop seed germination. The single effect of light color treatment gave a very significant effect on all observation variables, as well as the single effect of mechanical scarification. The best light color treatment was obtained in white light (W1) which can be seen in all observation variables, while the best single mechanical scarification treatment was obtained in partial scarification (S1) which can be seen in all observation variables.
