Abstract

ABSTRACT Bivalves are a phylum of mollusks that includes all shellfish and have a variety of body shapes and shell sizes. Bivalve research in Neuheun Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency was carried out in October 2024 with the aim of finding out the structure of the community. This study aims to identify the condition of the bivalve community structure in the form of species density, diversity index, uniformity index, dominance index, and morisita index (distribution pattern) in Neuheun Village, Mesjid Raya District, Aceh Besar Regency. The study consisted of 3 observation stations with sampling using a 10 m long quadrant transect and making sample plots measuring 1 x 1 m. The results of the study show that the bivalves found consist of 7 species, 5 genera and 3 families. Bivalve density ranged from 1.00 - 2.87 ind/m2, diversity index 0.00 - 0.75, uniformity index 0.00 - 0.75, dominance index 0.19 - 1.00 and morisita index 2.52 - 15.00.
