Abstract

ABSTRACT The legowo row planting system is one of the technological innovations that has an impact on increased paddy productivity as it can increase the number of paddy’s grain compared to other systems. In addition to the legowo planting system, each plant has sufficient space to reduce competition against light, air and water, this condition causes seed formation to occur perfectly. Although the legowo planting innovation program has been implemented, many farmers do not implement this system because they think the system can be detrimental, because some farmers have long implemented the random planting system and rambu which farmers consider to have close planting distances and can plant more grain, easily do spraying, and do not discard land. This research aims to find out the level of adoption of farmers' innovations to the legowo planting system and to find the difference in farmers’ adoption rates of innovations after using the Legowo plantation system. The results of the research showed that the adoption rate of the innovators to the legowo planting system in Gampong Cot Seurani, Muara Batu district of northern Aceh, then it can be concluded that the rate of adoption of the paddy’s farmer from the level of awareness, interest, evaluation, trial, and adoption showed the overall score of 1.92 with a moderate category.
