Abstract

Topography is one of the soil-forming factors that can affect the thickness of the soil layer and soil properties such as chemical, physical and biological properties of soil. Research on the influence of topography in the form of elevation and slope on soil properties. This study aims to determine the effect of topography on soil properties. Sampling was done by purposive sampling method. Nine soil samples were taken at three different locations for analysis of soil chemical and biological properties. The results of the study of the average value of pH (H2O), phosphate-available and phosphate-total are highest at an elevation of 700 m above sea level with an average value of pH (H2O) 7,00, phosphate-available 8,15 ppm and phosphate-total 48,46 mg/100 g while the average value of organic carbon is highest at an elevation of 1700 m above sea level which is 5,57%. The highest average values of pH (H2O), phosphate-available, and phosphate-total are found on a slope of 6,6% – 7,7% with an average value of pH (H2O) 6,95, phosphate-available 8,60 ppm and phosphate-total 50,86 mg/100 g, while the highest average value of organic carbon is found on a slope of 12,2% – 14,4% which is 5,29%. Total phosphate-solubilizing bacteria increased as elevation and slope increased. The highest total phosphate solubilizing bacteria were found at an elevation of 1200 m above sea level with an average total bacteria of 6,4 x 104 CFU/g absolute dry weight of soil and a slope of 20% – 24,4% with an average total bacteria of 6,2 x 104 CFU/g absolute dry weight of soil.
