Abstract
This research was conducted in Gampong Ulee Nyeue, Banda Baro District, North Aceh Regency in May 2024. Around 130 rice farmers in Gampong Ulee Nyeue have used combine harvesters, but there are still farmers who have not used combine harvesters because of the small area of rice fields and there are still rice fields that are swampy so there is still too much water at harvest time. The aim of this research is to determine the relationship between the response and motivation of lowland rice farmers towards the use of combine harvesters. This research uses a qualitative description method using a Likert scale to determine the relationship between farmers' responses and motivation using chi-square analysis using SPSS 25. The results of the analysis show that the majority of lowland rice farmers in Gampong Ulee Nyeue, Banda Baro District, North Aceh Regency have good responses and high motivation to use combine harvesters. From the results of the analysis of the relationship between farmers' responses and their motivation, it canbe seen that when the value of Xcount ≥ Xtable, there is a fairly high close relationship between farmers' responses and farmers' motivation and importance Keywords: chi-square , combine harvester, relationship, farmer's response, farmer's motivation.
