Abstract

Tobacco (Nicotiana tabacum) is plantation crops whose leaves are used as the main ingredient for making cigarettes. Tobacco production has decreased every year due to cultivation factors that still rely on very high inorganic fertilizers. One alternative that can reduce the use of inorganic fertilizers is combining cow manure and lamtoro Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) at the right dose. This study aimed to determine the effect of applying cow manure and lamtoro LOF on the growth of tobacco plants. This research was conducted in Pulo Rungkom Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh Regency from February to May 2024. This study used a two- factor Randomized Block Design (RBD) with three replications. The first factor was cow manure consisted of 3 levels P0 (0 kg/plot), P1 (7.2 kg/plot), and P2 (14.4 kg/plot). The second factor was lamtoro Liquid Organic Fertilizer (LOF) L0 (0 ml/L), L1 (30 ml/L), and L2 (60 ml/L). The results showed that the treatment of cow manure singly affected the variables of plant height at 20-60 DAP, stem diameter at 20-60 DAP, number of leaves at 20-60 DAP, leaf length at 30-60 DAP, leaf width at 30-60 DAP, weight of wet stover, leaf wet weight, leaf area, and dry weight of wind. The best treatment was found in the treatment of cow manure 14.4 kg/plot (P2). The treatment of lamtoro LOF singly affected the variables of plant height at 40 DAP, leaf length at 40 DAP, and leaf width at 40 DAP. The best treatment was 60 ml/L lamtoro LOF (L2). There was no interaction between the treatment of cow manure and LOF lamtoro on all observation variables.
