Abstract

Heavy metals are chemical elements that have density values more than 5 g/cm³ with atomic numbers 22 to 92 and capable forming bond complex moment enter to in body organism. Heavy metals have negative effects on aquatic life, especially fish. Because its toxicity cannot be broken down naturally, it can damage fish reproductive organs such as fish gonads. Gonads are part of the reproductive organs which are an important indicator in evaluating population dynamics and the sustainability of the organism. Study This use method exploratory survey in the waters coast Regency Aceh North And Lhokseumawe City. Data shows that the female pompano used in the study had gonadal maturity levels of TKG I, III and IV, while the male pompano had gonadal maturity levels (TKG) II and III. The gonad maturity index (IKG) value for trevally ranges from 0.008% - 2.30%. The content of the heavy metal lead (Pb) in the gonads of trevally fish at all stations in the industrial area of North Aceh Regency and Lhokseumawe City has a value of <0.07 ppm, while cadmium (Cd) has a value of <0.05 ppm and mercury (Hg) < 0.0015ppm. The values of the heavy metals Pb, Cd and Hg are still below the quality standards.
