Abstract

The C4.5 algorithm is the development of the ID3 algorithm which is also included in the decision tree family. The difference is that the C4.5 algorithm can handle data attributes with numeric values (continuous) and can handle attributes that have an empty value (missing value). And you can prune the decision tree, which is to remove overfit tree branches and replace them with more general leaf nodes. Gain Ratio is a calculation that is carried out specifically for the use of the C4.5 algorithm. The C4.5 algorithm is used so that it is not biased in determining the best split attribute. Therefore, the author uses the Gain Ratio algorithm in developing a web-based Tourism Object Recommendation System for Aceh. The tourism industry has an important role in the development of the country. In addition, tourism also has an influence on Regional Original Income (PAD) for local governments. Aceh Province is one of the areas on the island of Sumatra which has a variety of tourist attractions. There are many excellent tours in Aceh. But researchers are more concerned with tourist attractions that are more favored by Acehnese tourists. So the author makes a recommendation system for Aceh-wide objects in the form of rankings in order to make it easier for tourists to determine the tourist objects they will visit. The purpose of designing this web-based tourist attraction recommendation system is to later make it easier for tourists to get information on tourist attractions that have been recommended by the system so tourists will save time in sorting which areas they will visit given the many tours in Aceh. Therefore, the design of this tourist attraction recommendation system is intended as a means of superior tourist information in Aceh. The research method used is by collecting data through literature studies, interviews and observations. The design of this tourist attraction recommendation system the author uses Visual Studio Code. The results of the design in the form of a web-based tourist attraction recommendation system are expected to be able to become a medium that can facilitate Aceh tourists in determining the tourist objects they want to visit, then with this web-based tourist attraction recommendation system, it is hoped that a similar design process will result in a better design and more complete than the existing plan.
