Abstract

The research entitled "Analysis of Policy Framing of Fuel Price Increases on the Kompas.com News Portal for the period September 2022", aims to understand and describe the various forms of framing contained in the news. Through qualitative research, this research uses primary data in the form of the news itself and secondary data in the form of relevant previous studies. Qualitative research methods include observation, literature study, and documentation. Careful observations were made of the news script to note various signs of William A. Gamson's framing form. Literature studies are used to support the analysis by referring to William A. Gamson's framing theories and concepts that are relevant to news texts. Documentation is carried out by including news texts related to the research. This research uses social constructionist theory. The results of this research show that there are many forms of William A. Gamson's framing elements in the news about the increase in fuel prices which refer to the framing picture built by kompas.com. William Gamson's framing in the news about the increase in fuel prices. Kompas.com shows the alignment of Kompas. com to the government.
