Abstract

This study aims for effectiveness and supporting and inhibiting factors for the Child Sponsorship program implemented at SMP Negeri 4 Tuhemberua . In analyzing this, this research uses Community Development Theory by Riyadi and Bratakusumah and uses qualitative methods. The results of this study indicate that Empowerment is carried out by the Medan Generation of Dreams Foundation through Child Sponsorship Program ( CSP ) not fully effective . As for the type CSP training held at SMP Negeri 4 Tuhemberua namely guidance development character , skill language and computer lessons . The success of the CSP program can be seen from the increase in the number of student graduates that is as much as 92%. Although there is increase in number graduation , however only A little experienced students _ development with exists training conducted by CSP . As for factors supporting CSP held at SMP Negeri 4 Tuhemberua namely a professional mentor and existence parental support . _ Whereas factor the inhibitor that is parent education _ low student , attitude _ dependence on help , many parents _ student No There is will For work and environment .
