Abstract

Indonesia is an agricultural country that has many natural resources, especially in the agricultural sector. The rapid development of technology in the world is the same as the development of technology in the agricultural sector. Farmers have begun to apply various technologies both pre-harvest and post-harvest. One of the agricultural tools and machines that farmers are starting to use to harvest rice is the combine harvester. Gampong Blang Riek is a village with an area of 64 hectares of rice fields. Some of the people are farmers, namely rice farmers and labor farmers. With the development of technology, the rice harvesting process in Gampong Blang Riek currently relies on treaser and combine harvester machines. The research was conducted in Gampong Blang Riek, Kuta Makmur District, North Aceh Regency. The research was conducted in 2023. The aim of this research was to determine the impact of using a rice harvesting machine (combine harvester) on the income of female farm workers. The types of data used are primary data and secondary data. The analysis used in this research is the paired sample t test. The results of the research show that there is a difference in the income of female agricultural laborers before and after the introduction of a rice harvesting machine (combine harvester), namely the average working day of female agricultural laborers for rice farming labor activities before the existence of a rice harvesting machine (combine harvester) was 189. per harvest season. However, after the introduction of a rice harvesting machine (combine harvester), female agricultural workers' working days decreased by 8 per harvest season. Meanwhile, the average income of female agricultural workers before the introduction of rice harvesting machines (combine harvesters) was IDR. 1,857,143 and the average income of female farm workers decreased after the introduction of a rice harvesting machine (combine harvester) by Rp. 745,714 per harvest season. The results of the t test show that there is a significant difference in the income of female farm workers in farming activities before and after the presence of a rice harvesting machine (combina harvester).
