Abstract

ABSTRACT Vannamei Shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) is a type of shrimp known for its fast growth and high appetite. It has a wide tolerance to environmental conditions, but there are several challenges that can affect the production of vannamei shrimp. One of the common problems in vannamei shrimp farming is the emergence of diseases caused by bacteria such as Vibrio alginolyticus. This study was conducted at Kembang Tani Farm, Lancang Barat Village, Dewantara District, North Aceh, from August 5 to September 5, 2024. The research used an experimental method with a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 4 treatments and 3 repetitions. The treatments were: A) no gambir solution (control), B) gambir solution (1.6 ml/L), C) gambir solution (1.8 ml/L), and D) gambir solution (2 ml/L). Based on statistical analysis using the F-test (ANOVA), soaking vannamei shrimp in gambir solution showed a significant effect on shrimp infected with Vibrio alginolyticus. The best healing time for vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) was found in treatment D (gambir solution 2 ml/L) with an average time of 3 days. The highest survival rate of vannamei shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei) was found in treatment D (gambir solution 2 ml/L) with a survival percentage of 85.00%. Keywords: Vannamei shrimp, Vibrio alginolyticus, Gambir
