Abstract

Glutinous corn (Zea mays ceratina L.) has great potential as a source of food diversification and industrial raw materials. However, Glutionous corn productivity is often limited by low soil fertility. This study aimed to evaluate the effects of applying photosynthetic bacteria and jakaba on the growth and yield of glutinous corn plants. The research was conducted at the experimental garden, Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Malikussaleh, from December 2024 to March 2025. This study using a factorial randomized block design with three replications. The results showed that the application of photosynthetic bacteria significantly effect plant height, stem diameter, and leaf chlorophyll content, with the best treatment being B2 (30 ml/l). Jakaba application also had a significant effect on plant height, stem diameter, leaf chlorophyll content, number of leaves, and number of seed rows, with the optimal treatment K2 (40 ml/l). Furthermore, an interaction between photosynthetic bacteria and jakaba was effected on plant height, stem diameter, and leaf chlorophyll content. The best treatment was the combination B1K1. Keywords: Chlorophyll, Gluten, Microorganism.
