Abstract
ABSTRACT The physical properties of the soil greatly affect the availability of water, air, and nutrients for plants, which ultimately impacts the fertility and yield of rice production. However, increasingly limited land can reduce production yields. Some factors that affect this include temperature, soil type, rainfall, and climate. At locations with an altitude (minipit) of between 400 and 1600 meters, soil depth between 0 and 80 cm, and bulk density of around 1.26 to 1.34 g/cm³, the soil shows porosity ranging from 49.5% to 54.4%, which supports the soil's ability to store water. Soil water content test results between 25% and 35% are acceptable, depending on the soil composition, with soils that contain more clay having higher water content. The average soil density of 1.31 g/cm³ is still within the reasonable range although slightly higher than ideal for looser rice soils. Keywords: Bulk Density, Soil Texture, Water Content, Paddy Field
