Abstract

ABSTRAK Dominasi istri pada penguasaan ekonomi dan pengambilan keputusan dalam rumah tangga menjadi fenomena baru yang dapat menimbulkan tantangan akibat pergeseran peran yang terjadi di kalangan masyarakat yang masih memegang nilai-nilai tradisional. Perubahan peran dalam rumah tangga seringkali mengakibatkan ketegangan antara suami istri dalam pengambilan keputusan, baik itu pada pengelolaan ekonomi maupun pengasuhan dan pendidikan anak. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui bagaimana perubahan yang terjadi, mendeskripsikan pola dan juga menganalisis dampak yang terjadi akibat dominasi istri dalam rumah tangga. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan teknik pengumpulan data melalui observasi, wawancara, dan studi dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa dominasi istri pada penguasaan ekonomi dan pengambilan keputusan dalam rumah tangga disebabkan oleh tiga faktor utama, yaitu pendidikan, kondisi suami yang tidak memungkinkan untuk bekerja, dan juga pola kehidupan rumah tangga orang tua sebelumnya. Dampak positif yang terjadi akibat dominasi istri pada penguasaan ekonomi dan pengambilan keputusan dalam rumah tangga yaitu anak-anak tetap menghormati figur ayah meskipun bukan pencari nafkah utama dan dalam partisipasi sosial suami tetap aktif tanpa mengalami krisis kepercayaan diri dengan dukungan lingkungan sekitar yang tidak menjatuhkan satu sama lain. Temuan ini menggambarkan bahwa pergeseran peran ekonomi dalam rumah tangga tidak selalu berujung pada dampak negatif, melainkan dapat menghasilkan adaptasi kehidupan dalam rumah tangga selama dilandasi oleh komunikasi yang efektif dan saling menghargai satu sama lain. Kata Kunci: Dominasi istri, Penguasaan Ekonomi, Rumah Tangga ABSTRACT The dominance of wives in economic control and decision making in the household is a new phenomenon that can cause challenges due to the shift in roles that occurs in communities that still hold traditional values. Changes in roles in the household often result in tension between husband and wife in decision making, both in economic management and child care and education. This study aims to determine how the changes occur, describe the patterns and also analyze the impacts that occur due to the dominance of wives in the household. This study uses a qualitative approach with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation studies. The results of the study indicate that the dominance of wives in economic control and decision making in the household is caused by three main factors, namely education, the husband's condition that does not allow him to work, and also the pattern of the parents' previous household life. The positive impact that occurs due to the dominance of wives in economic control and decision making in the household is that children continue to respect the father figure even though he is not the main breadwinner and in social participation the husband remains active without experiencing a crisis of self confidence with the support of the surrounding environment that does not bring each other down. This finding illustrates that the shift in economic roles in the household does not always result in negative impacts, but can result in adaptation of life in the household as long as it is based on effective communication and mutual respect for each other.
