Abstract

ABSTRACT Mustard pakchoy ( Brassica rapa L.) is one of the most popular green vegetables in Indonesia. The increasing demand for pakchoy encourages efforts to increase productivity, one of which is with a hydroponic system. Hydroponic systems offer a solution to overcome land limitations and increase production efficiency, as well as to meet increasing market needs. This study was conducted to see the effect of planting media and Liquid Organic Fertilizer ( LOF ) on the growth of pakchoy plants in hydroponics. This study used a two-factor factorial randomized block design ( RBD ) with three replications. The first factor is: rockwol, husk charcoal, sand. The second factor is LOF goat manure in AB mix nutrient solution P0 equal to control, P1 equal to 10 ml LOF plus 5 ml AB mix, P2 = 20 ml LOF plus 5 ml AB mix, P3 equal to 30 ml LOF plus 5 ml AB mix. The provision of planting media affects the plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf chlorophyll, plant weight, leaf weight, root length, and root weight of pakcoy mustard plants which are best in the M1 treatment (rockwol). The provision of LOF affects the AB mix nutrient solution on plant height, number of leaves, leaf width, leaf chlorophyll, plant weight, leaf weight, root length, and root weight which is best in the P1 treatment (10 ml LOF plus 5 ml AB mix). There is an interaction between rockwool and LOF planting media on leaf width 14 HST and leaf chlorophyll 8 HST at the p level.
