Abstract

ABSTACT White snapper (Lates calcarifer) is also a fish that has high economic and nutritional value as a consumption fish. Its thick, white flesh and few bones make this fish popular with consumers, but production is still very low. One way that can be done to increase production is by providing seeds. Things that are often encountered in white sea bass cultivation include that the seeds from the hatchery still rely on commercial feed but their growth is still relatively slow. One of the ingredients used to feed white sea bass is squid oil. This research aims to examine the effectiveness of adding squid oil to feed on the growth and survival of white snapper fry. This research was carried out from July 10 to August 8 2024 in the Hatchery and Cultivation Technology laboratory, Aquaculture Study Program, Faculty of Agriculture, Malikussaleh University. This research used a nonfactorial Completely Randomized Design (CRD) consisting of 5 treatments and 4 replications, namely Treatment A: 0 ml /kg feed, Treatment B: 20 ml /kg feed, Treatment C: 25 ml /kg feed, Treatment D: 30 ml /kg feed, Treatment E: 35 ml /kg feed. Based on the F test analysis (ANOVA), the results showed a significant effect on length increase, weight gain, feed conversion ratio (FCR), survival rate and response to feed of white snapper seeds. The best results were in treatment E with a length of 1.52 cm, weight gain of 2.56 grams, FCR value of 1.61, SR 76.66%, and feed response of 3 minutes 23 seconds. The results of water quality measurements during the research were temperature 26.5-28.7°C, salinity 28 ppt, and pH 7.4 – 8. Key words: Squid oil, sea bass, growth, survival.iii ABSTRAK Ikan kakap putih (Lates calcarifer) merupakan ikan yang mempunyai nilai ekonomis dan nilai gizi yang tinggi sebagai ikan konsumsi. Dagingnya yang tebal dan putih, serta sedikit tulang membuat ikan ini banyak disukai oleh konsumen, namun produksinya masih sangat rendah. Salah satu cara yang dapat dilakukan untuk meningkatkan produksinya adalah dengan penyediaan benih. Hal yang sering di jumpai pada budidaya ikan kakap putih di antaranya ialah benih asal hatcheri masih mengandalkan pakan komersil namun masih tergolong lambat pertumbuhannya. Salah satu bahan yang digunakan untuk pakan ikan kakap putih adalah minyak cumi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji efektifitas penambahan minyak cumi ke dalam pakan terhadap pertumbuhan dan kelangsungan hidup benih ikan kakap putih. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada tanggal 10 Juli sampai dengan 08 Agustus 2024 di laboratorium Hatchery dan Teknologi Budidaya, Program Studi Akuakultur, Fakultas Pertanian, Universitas Malikussaleh. Penelitian ini menggunakan Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) non faktorial yang terdiri dari 5 perlakuan 4 ulangan yaitu Perlakuan A : 0 ml /kg pakan, perlakuan B: 20 ml /kg pakan, Perlakuan C : 25 ml /kg pakan, Perlakuan D : 30 ml /kg pakan, Perlakuan E : 35 ml /kg pakan. Berdasarkan analisis uji F (ANOVA) menunjukkan hasil berpengaruh nyata terhadap pertambahan panjang, pertambahan bobot, rasio konversi pakan (FCR), tingkat kelangsungan hidup, dan respon pakan benih ikan kakap putih. Hasil terbaik pada perlakuan E dengan panjang 1,52 cm, pertambahan bobot 2,56 gram, nilai FCR 1,61, SR 76,66%, dan respon pakan 3 menit 23 detik. Hasil pengukuran kualitas air selama penelitian yaitu suhu 26.5-28.7°C, salinitas 28 ppt, dan pH 7,4 – 8. Kata kunci: Minyak cumi, kakap putih, pertumbuhan, kelangsungan hidup
