Abstract
ABSTRACT Soybean (Glycine max. L (Merr) is the third most important commodity after rice and corn in the food crop group. One of the efforts that can be done to overcome this problem is by using superior varieties and the use of rhizobium fertiliser to increase production in soybean plants. This study aims to determine the physiological response and yield of several soybean varieties due to the application of rhizobium biofertiliser. This research was conducted in Meunasah meucat, nisam sub-district, north aceh district and in Agroecotechnology laboratory, Faculty of agriculture, University Malikussaleh. The research was conducted from May to August 2024. Using a Randomised Block Design (RBD)) experiment with two factors and three replications. The first factor was variety consisting of (V1) Grobongan, (V2) Anjasmoro, (V3) Detap-1 and (V4) Gepak kuning. The second factor is Rhizobium biofertiliser which consists of 3 levels, namely (R0) control, (R1) 15g/planting hole and (R2) 20g/planting hole. Parameters observed were flowering age, trifoliate leaf area, net assimilation rate, relative growth rate, plant wet weight, plant dry weight, root dry weight, shoot- root-ratio, leaf chlorophyll, root nodules, number of filled pods per plant, 100 seed weight, dry seed weight/plant, and production. Variety treatments affected 50% flowering age, trifoliate leaf area, net assimilation rate at 2 and 8 weeks after planting, plant wet weight at 8 weeks after planting, plant dry weight at 6 weeks after planting, number of filled pods per plant, 100 seed weight, dry seed weight per plant and production. The best treatment was obtained in Anjasmoro variety. Rhizobium fertiliser treatments affected 50% flowering age, leaf area at 2, 4 and 6 weeks, net assimilation rate at 4 weeks, plant dry weight at 6 weeks, shoot-root-ratio at 6 and 8 weeks, root nodules, dry seed weight per plant and production. The best treatment was obtained at a Rhizobium fertiliser dose of 20 g/plant hole. There was an interaction between the treatment of several soybean varieties and Rhizobium fertiliser on the variables of net assimilation rate, plant wet weight and plant dry weight. Keywords: Physiology, fertiliser dose, Soybean and Rhizobium
