Abstract
ABSTRACT Eggplant is a horticultural plant and is used as an ingredient for cooking which is planted to be used for its fruit. This research aims to determine the effect of vermicompost and liquid organic on the growth and production of eggplant.This research was conducted from May to July 2024 at the Experimental Farm and Agroecotechnology Laboratory of the Faculty of Agriculture, Universitas Malikussaleh Cot Teugku Nie Reuleut Muara Batu District, North Aceh Regency. The materials used in this study were eggplant seeds of mustang F1 variety, vermicompost and liquid organic fertiliser. Using a Randomized Block Design (RBD) experiment with two factors and three replications. The first factor is vermicompost fertiliser consisting of (K0) 0 kg/hectare, (K1) 6 tons/hectare, (K2) 10 tons/hectare. The second factor is vegetable waste POC which consists of 3 levels, namely (P0) 0 ml/plot, (P1) 200 ml/plot, (P2) 400 ml/plot. Parameters observed were plant height, number of leaves, stem diameter, flowering age, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit diameter, weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant.The results showed that the treatment of cassava fertiliser singly affected plant height at 7 and 28 DAP, stem diameter at 42 DAP, number of fruits, fruit length, fruit weight per fruit and fruit weight per plant. The best treatment was obtained at a dose of 2.2 kg/ha of vermicompost fertiliser. The treatment of vegetable waste LOF affects the number of leaves at 35 DAP, stem diameter at 42 DAP, flowering age, fruit length and fruit weight per plant. The best treatment was obtained at the level of 400 ml/L vegetable waste LOF. There was an interaction between the treatment of the dose of vermicompost fertiliser and the dose of vegetable waste LOF on the growth and yield of purple eggplant plants. The best treatment was obtained in the treatment of 2.2 kg/hectare vermicompost fertiliser + 400 ml/L vegetable waste LOF.
