Abstract

Inceptisol soil is marginal soil that requires additional organic and inorganic inputs so that soil quality can be improved in order to make plant productivity is optimal. Improving Inceptisol soil as a planting medium can be done by applying fertilizer through the addition of nutrients. The purpose of this research was to determine the effect of the Coumpond fertilizer and Single fertilizer, on the level of nutrients N, P and K in inceptisol soil and its effect on the growth and production of shallots. This research was conducted at the Universitas Malikussaleh Experimental Land from June to August 2024. This research used a two factor block randomized design method and 3 replicates. The first factor, namely compound NPK fertilizer (M), consists of 3 levels. The second factor, namely single fertilizer (T), consists of 3 levels. The variables observed from the chemical properties of the soil are pH, N-Total, P-Available and exchangeable Potassium. Variables observed in the field were plant height, number of leaves, number of tillers, number of tubers, wet weight of tubers and dry weight of tubers. The results of this research show that the application of NPK B fertilizer (0.88 g/polybag) + N fertilizer (1.49 g/polybag) is able to improve the chemical properties of inceptisol soil, namely soil pH by 17.79% from 5.79-6.82, N-Total by 5.55% from 0.18-0.19, P-Available by 43.64% from 2.75-3.95 and in the NPK B (0.88 g/polybag) + K fertilizer (1.5 g/polybag) treatment gave the best results exchangeable Potassium by 150% from 0.48-1.20. The application of compound fertilizer and single fertilizer can increase the growth and production of shallots plants. There is an interaction between the application of compound fertilizer and single fertilizer on the growth and production of shallots. Keywords : exchangeable potassium, marginal land, N-total, P-available, potential of hydrogen
