Abstract
ABSTRACT Rezkiyah Dwi Putri Siregar: Analysis of Problem Solving Ability and Collaboration Skills of Students Taught with Group Investigation Model on Global Warming Material, Chemistry Education Study Program FKIP Malukussaleh University, 2024. The purpose of the study was to analyze the Problem Solving Ability and Collaboration Skills of Learners Taught with Group Investigation Model on Global Warming Material. This research uses Pre Experimental Design method with Intact-Group Comparasion design. The design used in this research is intact-group comparison. There were two classes used in this study where the experimental class was applied using the Group Investigation model and the control class was taught using conventional methods. The sample used in this study consisted of class X.3 (28 people) as the experimental class and class X.4 (26 people) as the control class. At the data collection stage, problem solving test instruments and collaboration skills observation sheets, validity tests and reliability tests were carried out. From the results of research that has been carried out with the application of the Groub investigation learning model, it is stated that there is a significant effect on problem solving ability and collaboration skills in students in the experimental class. This result can be proven through the results of the independent sample t-test which shows that there is a difference in the average posttest between the experimental class and the control class, where in the experimental class on problem solving skills the average result is 83.86, while in the control class the average obtained is only 71.04. Collaboration skills in the experimental class obtained an average result of 81.96, while the control class obtained a lower average than the experimental class which was 69.62. The T test results for problem solving skills showed a significance of 0.00000035 (<0.05), and for collaboration skills of 0.0000049 (<0.05), which can be concluded that Ha is accepted and H0 is rejected. This means that the Group Investigation model is more effective in improving problem solving ability and collaboration skills compared to conventional learning methods.
