Abstract

ABSTRACT NURFADILAH: The Effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) Integrated Socioscience Learning Model on Students' Integrated Problem-Solving Skills. Physics Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Malikussaleh University, 2026. Physics learning is still dominated by concept mastery and problem solving, thus not providing adequate space for students to integrate scientific concepts with contextual problem solving, resulting in underdevelopment of students' integrated problem-solving skills. This prompted this study to investigate the effect of the Problem-Based Learning (PBL) integrated socioscience learning model on students' integrated problem-solving skills in renewable energy at SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe. This study employed a quantitative approach with an experimental method. The research design employed a quasi-experimental design with a nonequivalent control group design. The population in this study was all 10th-grade students. The sampling technique used purposive sampling, selecting two classes: 24 students from 10th-grade class as the experimental class and 26 students from 5th-grade class as the control class. To obtain research data, an instrument used to test students' integrated problem-solving abilities was a descriptive test consisting of eight items. Data analysis used descriptive and inferential methods, using the Welch's t-test, an alternative to the independent sample t-test. Data processing revealed a descriptive analysis of the average pretest for the control group of 51.7 and a pretest for the experiment group of 59.6. The average posttest for the control group of 67.1 and a posttest for the experiment group of 83.8. The inferential data analysis yielded a significance value of 0.000. This value is less than 0.05 (0.00 < 0.05), thus concluding that the Problem-Based Learning Integrated Socioscience model has an effect on students' integrated problem-solving abilities. Program Studi Pendidikan Fisika Fakultas Keguruan Dan Ilmu Pendidikan Universitas Malikussaleh, 2026. Pembelajaran fisika masih didominasi oleh penguasaan konsep dan penyelesaian soal, sehingga belum memberikan ruang yang memadai bagi siswa untuk mengintegrasikan konsep ilmiah dengan penyelesaian masalah kontekstual yang mengakibatkan belum berkembangnya kemampuan pemecahan masalah terintegrasi siswa. Hal tersebut mendorong dilakukannya penelitian ini dengan tujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model pembelajaran problem based learning (pbl) terintegrasi sosiosains terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah terintegrasi siswa pada materi energi terbarukan di SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan metode eksperimen. Design penelitian menggunakan Quasi experimental design dengan bentuk Nonequivalent Control Group Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas X. Adapun pengambilan sampel melalui teknik purposive sampling yang dipilih sebanyak 2 kelas yaitu kelas X-1 sebanyak 24 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen dan X-5 sebanyak 26 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol. Untuk mendapatkan data hasil penelitian digunakan instrument tes kemampuan pemecahan masalah terintegrasi siswa berupa soal uraian sebanyak 8 butir soal. Analisis data menggunakan deskriptif dan inferensial dengan uji welch’s t-test berupa alternatif dari independent sample t-test. Pengolahan data hasil analisis deskriptif rata-rata pretes kontrol diperoleh 51,7 dan rata-rata pretest eksperimen diperoleh 59,6. Untuk hasil rata-rata postest kontrol diperoleh 67,1 sedangkan rata-rata postest eksperimen diperoleh 83,8. Hasil Analisis data inferensial diperoleh nilai signifikan sebesar 0,000. Nilai 0,000 lebih kecil daripada 0,05 (0,00 < 0,05) sehingga dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh model pembelajaran pembelajaran Problem Based Learning Terintegrasi Sosiosains terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah terintegrasi siswa.
