Abstract

ABSTRAK Kota Lhokseumawe termasuk wilayah dengan risiko sedang bencana gempa bumi. Gempa bumi merupakan salah satu jenis bencana alam yang berpotensi menimbulkan korban jiwa dalam jumlah besar, bahkan dapat mencapai ribuan jiwa dalam satu kejadian bencana. Kondisi ini menuntut kesiapsiagaan yang memadai, termasuk pengetahuan pertolongan pertama oleh anggota PMR sebagai bagian dari upaya penanganan korban bencana. Palang Merah Remaja (PMR) memiliki peran strategis dalam tindakan pertolongan pertama, sehingga perlu ditingkatkan pengetahuannya melalui penyuluhan kesehatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh penyuluhan terhadap tingkat pengetahuan pertolongan pertama korban bencana gempa bumi pada anggota PMR di SMA Kota Lhokseumawe. Desain penelitian ini bersifat quasi-eksperimental dengan jenis one group pretest-posttest. Sampel penelitian adalah anggota PMR SMA Negeri 1 Lhokseumawe dan SMA Negeri 2 Lhokseumawe yang berjumlah 35 orang. Data dianalisis menggunakan uji Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test (α = 0,05). Hasil penelitian menunjukkan adanya peningkatan bermakna tingkat pengetahuan setelah diberikan penyuluhan (p < 0,05). Disimpulkan bahwa penyuluhan kesehatan berpengaruh signifikan terhadap peningkatan pengetahuan pertolongan pertama pada anggota PMR di SMA Kota Lhokseumawe. Diharapkan hasil penelitian ini dapat diterapkan oleh responden dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, menjadi pertimbangan pihak sekolah untuk menerapkan metode penyuluhan interaktif bagi siswa lainnya, serta menjadi referensi bagi peneliti selanjutnya untuk mengembangkan intervensi berupa pelatihan keterampilan praktis pertolongan pertama. Earthquakes are a type of natural disaster that has the potential to cause a large number of fatalities—even reaching thousands in a single disaster. This situation requires adequate preparedness, including first aid knowledge among Red Cross Youth (PMR) members as part of disaster victim response efforts. The Youth Red Cross (PMR) plays a strategic role in first aid response; therefore, their knowledge must be enhanced through health education. This study aims to determine the effect of health education on the level of first aid knowledge for earthquake victims among PMR members at high schools in Lhokseumawe City. The study design is quasi-experimental, specifically a one-group pretestposttest design. The study sample consisted of 35 PMR members from Lhokseumawe State High School 1 and Lhokseumawe State High School 2. Data were analyzed using the Wilcoxon Signed-Rank Test (α = 0.05). The results showed a statistically significant increase in knowledge levels following the health education session (p < 0.05). It is concluded that health education has a significant effect on improving first aid knowledge among PMR members at high schools in Lhokseumawe City. It is hoped that the results of this study can be applied by the respondents in their daily lives, serve as a consideration for school administrators to implement interactive education methods for other students, and serve as a reference for future researchers to develop interventions in the form of practical first aid skills training.
