Abstract

ABSTRAK Obat generik merupakan salah satu komponen penting dalam pelayanan kesehatan karena memiliki harga yang lebih terjangkau dan berperan dalam meningkatkan akses masyarakat terhadap pengobatan. Meskipun demikian, penggunaan obat generik masih dipengaruhi oleh tingkat pengetahuan, persepsi, pengalaman, serta kepercayaan masyarakat terhadap mutu dan efektivitasnya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap penggunaan obat generik di Kecamatan Muara Dua Kota Lhokseumawe. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif analitik dengan desain cross sectional. Sampel penelitian berjumlah 397 responden yang dipilih dari masyarakat Kecamatan Muara Dua Kota Lhokseumawe sesuai kriteria inklusi dan eksklusi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap obat generik sebagian besar berada pada kategori cukup sebanyak 294 responden (74,1%), diikuti kategori baik sebanyak 98 responden (24,7%), dan kategori kurang sebanyak 5 responden (1,3%). Frekuensi penggunaan obat generik paling banyak berada pada kategori tinggi sebanyak 225 responden (56,7%), kategori sedang sebanyak 141 responden (35,5%), dan kategori rendah sebanyak 31 responden (7,8%). Hasil analisis dengan menggunakan uji chi square menunjukkan nilai p=0,129, sehingga tidak terdapat hubungan yang bermakna secara statistik antara tingkat pengetahuan masyarakat dengan frekuensi penggunaan obat generik. Kesimpulan penelitian ini adalah masyarakat Kecamatan Muara Dua Kota Lhokseumawe umumnya memiliki tingkat pengetahuan yang cukup dan frekuensi penggunaan obat generik yang tinggi, namun tingkat pengetahuan belum terbukti berhubungan secara signifikan dengan penggunaan obat generik. However, the use of generic medicines may still be influenced by knowledge, perception, experience, and public trust in their quality and effectiveness. This study aimed to analyze the level of public knowledge regarding the use of generic medicines in Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe City. This was a descriptive analytic study with a cross-sectional design. The sample consisted of 397 respondents selected from the community of Muara Dua District based on the inclusion and exclusion criteria. Data were collected using a questionnaire and analyzed through univariate and bivariate analyses. Bivariate analysis was conducted to assess the relationship between knowledge level and frequency of generic medicine use. The result showed that the majority of respondents had a moderate level of knowledge regarding generic medicines, totaling 294 respondents (74.1%), followed by good knowledge in 98 respondents (24.7%) and poor knowledge in 5 respondents (1.3%). The frequency of generic medicine use was mostly in the high category, totaling 225 respondents (56.7%), followed by the moderate category in 141 respondents (35.5%) and the low category in 31 respondents (7.8%). The relationship analysis showed a p-value of 0.129, indicating no statistically significant relationship between the level of public knowledge and the frequency of generic medicine use. This study concludes that the community of Muara Dua District, Lhokseumawe City generally has a moderate level of knowledge and a high frequency of generic medicine use; however, knowledge level was not significantly associated with generic medicine use.
