Abstract

ABSTRACT ASRO WARDIYAH NASUTION. “Farmers’ Perceptions” of the Role of Agricultural Extension Workers in the Implementation of the Jajar Legowo Planting System at BPP Barumun Baru, Padang Lawas Regency, supervised by Jamilah and Hafni Zahara This research was conducted at BPP Barumun Baru, Padang Lawas Regency, from September 2025 to November 2025. The existence of this Agricultural Extension Center has generated diverse farmer perceptions regarding the role of extension workers in implementing the jajar legowo planting system. The objective of this study was to analyze farmers perceptions of the role of agricultural extension workers in the implementation of the jajar legowo planting pattern at BPP Barumun Baru, Padang Lawas Regency. The data analysis method used was qualitative analysis supported by a Likert scale. The results showed that farmers perceptions of the role of extension workers in the implementation of the jajar legowo planting system at BPP Barumun Baru, Padang Lawas Regency were classified as good, with an average index score of 63.96%. Farmers perceptions were assessed based on five indicators, namely: the organizer indicator categorized as playing a role with an index value of 66.55%, the facilitator indicator categorized as moderately playing a role with an index value of 56.66%, the dynamizer indicator categorized as playing a role with an index value of 71.07%, the catalyst indicator categorized as playing a role with an index value of 64.35%, and the innovator indicator categorized as moderately playing a role with an index value of 61.18%.
